The competition is open to all members of the local design and construction community, including but not limited to architects, engineers, contractors, artists, and other creative individuals. Teaming with other design professionals is highly recommended.

To participate send in your completed entry form by November 30, 2009. There is no fee to participate, but you agree to build your BARKitecture and donate it to the Kansas Humane Society. Your donation will be auctioned off to the highest bidder at the fabulous BARKitecture Bash and Meow Mixer - Feb. 12, 2010, 7 p.m. at the new Kansas Humane Society facility.
All BARKitecture must be delivered to ABODE Home, 1330 E. Douglas by noon on Wednesday, Jan. 20. The pet structures will be on display Jan.20-Feb2 at ABODE. Travel to the WABA Home Show at Century II Feb. 4-7, then end at the KHS Feb. 7-12.

BARKitecture invites you to let your imagination run wild and get your creative groove on by building a fantastic animal abode to honor our furry (and feathery) friends...all to benefit the Kansas Humane Society. Your animal abode can be big or little, for indoors or out, classy or funky, but always fun and functional. Build a cat condo, a gerbil gymnasium, a doggie domicile - it's up to you. This year we're even excepting art with an animal flare. The donated animal abodes will be auctioned off at the BARKitecture BASH & MEOW Mixer, Friday, February 12, 2010 at 7 p.m. at the new Kansas Humane Society campus, 3313 E. Hillside (Hillside & K-96). All proceeds will benefit the Kansas Humane Society to help them achieve their vision of saving the life of every adoptable animal in our community. (Samples from past competitions at top right). BARKitecture Bash & Meow Mixer February 12th.
